I. ILLUSTRATION OF A CHOICE VESSELS
A. ANALOGY

>>1. STATEMENT – II Tim 2:20a Now in a great house there are not only vessels that are golden and silver but also wooden or earthen, (also I Tim 3:15)
>>2. EXPLANATION – II Tim 2:20b some for honorable use, some dishonorable. (also Rom 9:21)

B. APPLICATION
>>1. ANALOGY – II Tim 2:21a Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for valuable use, (also I Jn 1:9)
>>2. DIFFERENT – II Tim 2:21b set apart as holy, fitting and serviceable to the master, having been prepared for every good work. (also I Cor 1:30; 6:11; Heb 10:10; II Cor 3:18; 7:1; I Thes 4:3; I Jn 3:1-3)

II. INSTRUCTIONS FOR A CHOICE VESSEL
A. AVOIDANCE

>>1. FLEE – II Tim 2:22a So run from youthful passions
>>2. KNOW THE ENEMY (Prov 6:5; I Cor 6:18; 10:14; I Tim 6:11)

B. ACTIONS
>>1. PURSUE RIGHTEOUSNESS – II Tim 2:22b and run toward righteousness, (also Deut 10:12-13; Ps 40:8; I Jn 5:3)
>>2. PURSUE FAITHFULNESS – II Tim 2:22c faithfulness, (also Rom 10:17)
>>3. PURSUE LOVE – II Tim 2:22d love, (also Eph 2:3; I Cor 13:4-7;
>>4. PURSUE PEACE – II Tim 2:22e and peace (also Rom 12:18; Mt 5:23-24)
>>5. PURSUE PURITY – II Tim 2:22f joining those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
