I. CHARACTER OF FALSE TEACHERS – II Tim 3:5-7
A. EXAMINATION – REVIEW

>>1. CONSIDERATION (Acts 2:17; Heb 1:1-2a; II Tim 3:1) In the last days, difficult eras will come
>>2. SUMMATION (II Tim 3:2-4) For people will be self-centered, lovers of money, materialistic, proud, arrogant, abusive, rebellious, ungrateful, indecent, inhuman, bitter, malicious, ungovernable, fierce, hostile, deceitful, rash, conceited, hedonistic,

B. EXPEDIENCE
>>1. REPRESENTATION 3:5a having the appearance of godliness
>>2. ACTUALIZATION 3:5b but denying its power (I Cor 1:18; Lk 9:23)
>>3. INSTRUCTION 3:5c Avoid such people! (I Cor 5:5-13; 15:33)

C. EVALUATION
>>1. INFILTRATION 3:6a For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women
>>2. EXPRESSION 3:6b burdened with sins and led astray by various desires

D. ESSENCE
>>1. INVESTIGATION 3:7a always learning (Jn 17:17; I Tim 2:4)
>>2. OBSERVATION 3:7b and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth.

II. CONFLICT WITH FALSE TEACHERS – II Tim 3:8-9
A. EXAMPLES

>>1. ILLUSTRATION 3:8a Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, (Ex 7:10-13, 20-23; 8:16-19)
>>2. DESCRIPTION 3:8b so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind (Rev 13:13-15; II Thes 2:9-10; II Cor 11:15)

B. ENCOURAGEMENT
>>1. DISQUALIFICATION 3:8c and rejected regarding the faith.
>>2. LIMITATION 3:9a But they won’t get very far, (Mt 16:18; Mk 13:22)

C. EVIDENCE
>>1. DETERMINATION 3:9b for just like those two men,
>>2. MANIFESTATION 3:9c their folly will be evident to everyone.
