I. PEOPLE OF THE WORLD
A. CHALLENGE

>>1. REJECTION -II Tim 4:3a For the time is coming when people will not put up with sound teaching. (Jn. 6:60, 66, 26; Is 30:9-11; I Pet 2:2)
>>2. REPLACE -II Tim 4:3b Instead, they will look for teachers to suit their own interests, who please them by saying only what they are itching to hear. (Jn 6:65)

B. CONSEQUENCES
>>1. REBUFF – II Tim 4:4a and will twist aside from listening to the truth (Acts 3:26; Jn 3:19-20)
>>2. REPLACEMENT – II Tim 4:4b and wander off into myths. (Prov 1:30; Acts 7:57-58; Jn 14:6; II Pet 1:16)

II. PEOPLE OF THE WORD
A. CHARACTER

>>1. RELIABLE – II Tim 4:5a As for you, be self-controlled in everything, (Mt 7:1; 26:41; Jn 3:16)
>>2. REMAIN – II Tim 4:5b endure suffering, (Heb 13:23)

B. CHALLENGE
>>1. REACH OUT – II Tim 4:5c do the work of an evangelist,
>>2. RISE (TO OCCASION) – II Tim 4:5d fulfill the service asked of you. (Col 4:17 Philemon 1:1-2 Acts 12:25)
