I. THE SAME MESSAGE GIVEN AGAIN

A. MESSAGE OF REJOICING
Phil 3:1a “As to the rest, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord.” Why?

Phil 1:5          because of fellowship together in the Gospel
Phil 1:14        because of bonds and nothing-to-lose attitude
Phil 1:18        because Christ is preached
Phil 2:2          because believers were like-minded
Phil 2:16        because church was “hanging on” and holding out the Word
Phil 2:18        because of sacrifices made
Phil 2:28        because of the faithful messenger from the Church
Phil 3:1          KEEP ON REJOICING

B. MESSAGE OF REPETITION
Phil 3:1b “To write the same thing to you is not irksome for me, but it’s a safeguard for you.” (also Heb 12:3; Is 28:8-14)

60% of the converts to Jehovah’s Witness and 75% to LatterDay Saints are folks who were once faithful to aBaptistChurch. Walking through this life is like walking through a “junk yard” filled with dangers and pitfalls of errors.  Paul erects three warning signs to RE-ENFORCE his teaching about fall doctrine

II. THE SAVING MESSAGE GIVEN AGAIN

A. BEWARE OF FALSE FRIENDS
Phil 3:2a “Beware of dogs”

B. BEWARE OF FALSE TEACHERS
Phil 3:2b “beware of evil workers” (also Is 64:6

C. BEWARE OF FALSE RELIGIONS
Phil 3:2c “beware of the mutilation.”

Now, once a person has accepted the “old, old story” of salvation and trusted in Christ’s blood alone for eternal life, there IS a way to walk.  The walk doesn’t MAKE US HOLY; we walk this way because God has already MADE US HOLY

III. THE SANCTIFYING MESSAGE GIVEN AGAIN

A. SANCTIFIED BELIEVERS RESPOND TO GOD
Phil 3:3a “For we are the circumcision who worship God in the Spirit” (also Rom 2:28-29; Jn 4:24)

B. SANCTIFIED BELIEVERS REJOICE IN CHRIST
Phil 3:3b “[who] glory in Messiah Jesus”

C. SANCTIFIED BELIEVERS REJECT THE FLESH
Phil 3:3c “and put no trust in the flesh.” (also Gal 6:13-14; Col 2:23)
