I. COUNTING ALL THINGS AS LOSS FOR CHRIST
A. REASON #1 – “GAIN” MUST BE DEFINED
Phil 3:7 “But the things that were gains to me I’ve counted as loss for Christ” (also Mt 13:44-46).

B. REASON #2 – “CHOICES” WILL ALWAYS CONFRONT US
Phil 3:8a “So at the least, I consider again all things as loss” (also Acts 20:24)

C. REASON #3 – “KNOWING JESUS” SURPASSES ALL
Phil 3:8b “compared to the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord” (also Gal 2:20

D. REASON #4 – “SUFFERING” IS A CHOICE
Phil 3:8c “for Whose sake I have lost all things.” (also II Cor 11:23-28)

E. REASON #5 – HAULING OUT THE “RUBBISH”
Phil 3:8d “and consider them rubbish [that I may gain Christ].”

II. REPLACING ALL THINGS AS FOUND IN CHRIST
A. REASON #1 – THE “GAIN” OF BEING IN CHRIST
Phil 3:8e-9a “that I may gain Christ and be found in Him” (alsoCol 1:27; 3:3; Rom 8:1; Eph 2:6)

B. REASON #2 – THE “GAIN” OF REJECTING SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS
Phil 3:9b “not having my own righteousness that comes from Torah” (also Rom 3:20)

C. REASON #3 – THE “GAIN” OF A NEW, ETERNAL RIGHTEOUSNESS OF FAITH
Phil 3:9c “but that which is through faith in the Messiah – the righteousness that comes from God by faith.” (also Rom 3:28; 4:5; I Cor 1:31)
