I Pet 3:15b Always [be] prepared to make a defense to anyone asking you

B. ANSWER
I Pet 3:15c for a word about the hope that is in you.
1. REASON (Jn 3:15, 36; 5:24; 6:37)
2. HOPE (Job 19:25-27)

II. REACTION
A. ATTITUDE

I Pet 3:15d Do this with gentleness and respect,
1. GENTLENESS
2. RESPECT

B. AUTHENTIC
I Pet 3:16a keeping a clear conscience,
1. GUILT-FREE (I Jn 1:9)
2. CONCERN (Rom 2:14; Titus 1:15; I Tim 4:2; Heb. 10:22)

III. RESPONSE
A. ACCUSED

I Pet 3:16b so that when you are slandered, those who label your good Christian behavior as ‘criminal’
1. INEVITABLE (I Tim 3:9; Heb 13:18; 9:14)
2. MALIGNED (Acts 24:16; II Tim 1:3; Ps 42:10)

B. ASHAMED
I Pet 3:16c will be embarrassed.
1. RED-FACE

I Pet 3:17a For if it’s God’s will to suffer,
