Matthew 14:22 Immediately Jesus compelled the disciples enter a boat and precede Him to the other side [of Galilee] until He dismissed the crowds.

Matthew 14:23 And having dismissed the crowds, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. When evening came, He was there alone.

II. SECURE IN CHRIST’S WORDS
A. TRUST IN MAN’S WORDS?
Matthew 14:24-26 but the boat by this time was more than three miles out at sea, being beaten by the waves, for the wind was against them. And sometime between 3:00-6:00 a.m. Jesus went toward them, walking on the sea. But when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” and they cried out in fear.

III. SECURE IN CHRIST’S PRESENCE
A. FAITH OF PETER
Matthew 14:28-29 And Peter answered him, “Lord, since it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”
He said, “Come.”
So Peter climbed down out of the boat and walked on the water, going toward Jesus.
1. GREAT FAITH?
2. GREAT PRESUMPTION?
B. FALTERING OF PETER
Matthew 14:30-32 But when he saw the strong wind,he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.”
Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “[One of] Little faith, why did you doubt?” And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.

IV. SECURE IN CHRIST’S WORSHIP
A. INDIVIDUAL WORSHIP
Matthew 14:33 And those in the boat worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”

B. CORPORATE WORSHIP
1. FROM FEAR TO FAITH
2. ACKNOWLEDGING JESUS
