I. DIVINE CONFRONTATION

A. DRIVE

1. THE MAN, Luke 19:1-2 Jesus entered [old] Jericho and was walking through town. And behold, there was a man named Zaccheus. He was a chief tax collector and was rich.

2. THE MISSION, Luke 19:3 And he was seeking to see who Jesus was, but since he was short, he couldn’t see over the crowd.

3. THE MANEUVER, Luke 19:4 Since Jesus was going to pass that [direction], he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see.

B. DEVELOPMENT

1. THE MEETING, Luke 19:5a As Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him and said,

2. THE MESSAGE, Luke 19:5b “Zaccheus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”

C. DECISION

1. THE MOVEMENT, Luke 19:6a So he hurried and came down

2. THE MOTIVATION, Luke 19:6b and received Him joyfully.

II. DIVINE TRANSFORMATION

A. DISCUSSION

1. THE MULTITUDES, Luke 19:7a And when they saw it, everyone grumbled

2. THE MUMBLING, Luke 19:7b “He’s gone to be the guest of a sinful man.”

B. DIVESTMENT

1. THE MONEY, Luke 19:8a But Zaccheus stood [after dinner] and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, I am giving half of my possessions to the poor”

2. THE MINDSET, Luke 19:8b “And if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will return it fourfold.”

III. DIVINE DECLARATION

A. DECREE

1. THE MIRACLE, Luke 19:9a And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house”

2. THE MEANING. Luke 19:9b “since he also is a son of Abraham.”

B. DISCLOSURE

1. THE MANIFESTATION, Luke 19:10a For the Son of Man came

2. THE MANDATE, Luke 19:10b to seek and to save the lost.
